Introduction
Whinta (“Whinta,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of information processed through our services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, how long we retain it, and the choices available to you when using the Whinta platform and its integrations.
Whinta provides business communication and messaging services, including WhatsApp Business API functionality, contact management, automation, integrations, and related business tools (“Services”).
1. Account Access and Security
Whinta accounts are controlled by the account holder and may allow the account holder to assign specific roles and permissions to other authorized users, such as managers or agents.
Whinta does not collect or store your account password in plain text. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for appropriately managing access and permissions granted to other users of your account.
If you believe your account has been accessed without authorization, you should contact Whinta immediately.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use Whinta, we may collect and process the following categories of information:
Account and Business Information
This may include:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Business information
- Account and organization information
- Subscription and billing information
- Information necessary to provide customer support
Contact Information
When you create or manage contacts in Whinta, we may process information such as:
- Contact name
- Phone number
- Email address
- Contact labels, groups, and related organization information
- Other information that you or an authorized user chooses to store in Whinta
Usage and Technical Information
We may process information relating to your use of the Services, such as:
- Account activity
- Service usage
- Message and communication activity
- Authentication and security information
- Technical information necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services
Connected Integrations
If you connect a third-party service or integration to Whinta, we may receive or process information made available through that integration according to the permissions and configuration you authorize.
For example, if you connect an e-commerce store such as Shopify, Whinta may receive customer and order information necessary to provide configured messaging functionality.
3. Google Contacts Integration
Whinta provides an optional Google Contacts synchronization feature.
If you choose to connect your Google account to Whinta and authorize the Google Contacts integration, Whinta uses the Google People API to synchronize contacts from your Whinta account to your Google Contacts.
Google Data Used
For contacts selected or configured for synchronization, Whinta may send the following information to Google:
- Contact name
- Phone number
- Email address, when available
Whinta also receives and stores the Google contact resource identifier associated with a synchronized contact. This identifier allows Whinta to associate a Whinta contact with the corresponding Google Contact and update the same contact during subsequent synchronizations.
How Google Data Is Used
Google-related data is used solely to provide the Google Contacts synchronization functionality requested by you. Whinta may use this information to:
- Create Google Contacts from contacts in your Whinta account.
- Update previously synchronized Google Contacts when the corresponding Whinta contact changes.
- Maintain the association between a Whinta contact and its corresponding Google Contact.
- Prevent duplicate Google Contacts from being created during repeated synchronizations.
Whinta does not use Google user data for advertising, personalized advertising, retargeting, or unrelated marketing.
Whinta does not sell Google user data.
Whinta does not use Google user data to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.
Whinta does not use Google user data for purposes unrelated to providing the Google Contacts functionality authorized by you.
Google Contacts Read Requests
Whinta does not import or synchronize a user's general Google Contacts database into Whinta.
During an update of a previously synchronized contact, Whinta may make a limited request to the Google People API for the specific Google Contact resource previously associated with that Whinta contact. This request is used to obtain information necessary to safely update that contact, such as its current concurrency information.
Whinta does not use these requests to list, search, or build a separate database of the user's other Google Contacts.
Storage of Google-Related Data
Whinta stores information necessary to operate the synchronization feature, including the Google resource identifier associated with a synchronized contact, synchronization status, and synchronization timestamps.
The contact information used by Whinta for synchronization remains part of the user's Whinta contact data.
Google authorization credentials and tokens used to provide the authorized integration are handled using appropriate security measures and are used only to provide the authorized Google functionality.
Information transmitted between Whinta and Google services is transmitted using encrypted connections.
Sharing of Google User Data
Whinta does not sell Google user data.
Whinta does not transfer Google user data to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers.
Whinta does not transfer Google user data to third parties for advertising, personalized advertising, retargeting, or unrelated purposes.
Google-related data may be processed or transferred only when necessary to provide the Google Contacts functionality requested by the user, maintain security, comply with applicable law, or as otherwise permitted by Google's API Services User Data Policy.
Disconnecting Google Contacts
You can disconnect your Google account from Whinta through the Google Contacts integration settings.
When the integration is disconnected, Whinta stops using the Google authorization to perform further Google Contacts synchronization.
Disconnecting the integration does not automatically delete contacts that Whinta previously created in your Google Contacts unless the applicable Whinta functionality specifically provides for that deletion.
You may also revoke Whinta's access to your Google Account through your Google Account settings. After access is revoked, Whinta can no longer use the revoked authorization to access Google services. Google Contacts synchronization will stop until you reconnect and authorize the integration again.
Deletion of Google-Related Data
You may request deletion of Google-related information stored by Whinta by contacting us at: info@whinta.com
Whinta will process valid deletion requests in accordance with its applicable data-retention and deletion procedures. When Google-related synchronization information is no longer required to provide the authorized functionality, it will be deleted in accordance with those procedures, except where retention is required by law or is otherwise necessary for legitimate security or legal purposes.
Whinta's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use information processed through Whinta to:
- Provide and operate the Services you request.
- Manage your Whinta account and organization.
- Provide contact-management and communication functionality.
- Provide integrations and features that you explicitly enable.
- Send messages and notifications configured by authorized users.
- Provide customer support.
- Maintain the security and integrity of the Services.
- Detect and prevent unauthorized access, abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
- Troubleshoot and maintain the Services.
- Comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
We use information only for purposes relevant to providing, securing, maintaining, and supporting the Services, subject to the specific limitations described in this Privacy Policy and any applicable third-party platform policies.
5. Connected Store and E-Commerce Data
If you connect an e-commerce store, such as Shopify, to Whinta, Whinta may receive information about the store and its customers through the store platform's API. This may include:

Customer information received through a connected store is used to provide the messaging and automation functionality configured by the merchant.
Whinta acts as a service provider or data processor for such merchant-controlled customer information where applicable.
Whinta does not sell connected-store customer information or use it for unrelated advertising or marketing purposes.
6. Data Sharing
Whinta does not sell your personal information.
We may share or process information with service providers when necessary to operate the Services, provide functionality requested by you, maintain security, or comply with applicable law. Service providers may process information only as necessary to provide the applicable services and are expected to maintain appropriate confidentiality and security protections.
We may also disclose information where required by law, legal process, court order, or governmental request, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, security, or property of Whinta, our users, or others.
Third-party integrations may receive information when you explicitly connect and authorize those integrations or when an authorized user configures Whinta to use them.
7. Data Security
Whinta uses appropriate technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures may include:
- Encrypted transmission of data.
- Access controls and role-based permissions.
- Authentication and authorization controls.
- Secure handling of integration credentials and tokens.
- Monitoring and logging for security and operational purposes.
- Measures designed to detect and prevent unauthorized access.
No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security. Users are responsible for protecting their account credentials and managing access to their Whinta account appropriately.
8. Data Retention
Whinta retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain account functionality, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, and perform legitimate operational functions. Different categories of information may have different retention periods depending on their purpose.
Dormant Accounts
Accounts without an active subscription may become subject to Whinta's account-dormancy and data-deletion procedures.
Where applicable, dormant accounts and associated information may be deleted after the applicable retention period, subject to legal, security, and operational requirements.
Connected Store Data
Customer data received through a connected store is retained only as necessary to provide the connected integration and related Whinta functionality, subject to applicable retention requirements.
When an integration is disconnected or uninstalled, applicable connected-store data is deleted according to Whinta's deletion procedures and any applicable platform requirements.
9. Your Rights and Data Deletion
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights regarding information processed by Whinta, including the ability to:
- Request access to information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of information.
- Request information about how your data is processed.
- Disconnect third-party integrations you have authorized.

If information was provided to Whinta by a merchant or business customer through a connected integration, requests relating to that information may need to be made through the applicable merchant or business customer where that party is the data controller.
10. Third-Party Services
Whinta integrates with third-party services to provide certain functionality.
When you connect a third-party service, that service may process information according to its own privacy policy and terms. Examples may include communication platforms, e-commerce platforms, payment providers, cloud infrastructure providers, and Google services.
Whinta only requests and uses information necessary to provide the applicable functionality that you or an authorized account user has enabled.
11. Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- Managing users and roles appropriately.
- Ensuring that information submitted to Whinta is collected and used lawfully.
- Obtaining any necessary permissions or consents from your customers or contacts where required.
- Disconnecting integrations that you no longer wish to use.
- Notifying Whinta of unauthorized access or security concerns.
12. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our Services, integrations, security practices, legal requirements, or other operational needs.
When material changes are made, we may provide appropriate notice through the Services or other reasonable communication channels.
The “Last updated” date at the beginning of this Privacy Policy indicates when this policy was most recently revised.
